TAPESTRIES OF LIFE MINISTRIES

From Interstate 10 in El Paso, Texas, a quick look to the south reveals the stark contrast between America’s peace and prosperity and the poverty of the Third World. Ciudad Juárez, Mexico: A three-year drug war and corruption have made this city of 1.8 million people one of the most destitute places in the world. Without basic needs and a positive adult influence, thousands of children face a bleak future. Some are pressured to enter the drug trade, while some find their way into sex trafficking, or, at the very least, homelessness. The need can seem overwhelming, but we are undeterred. Since 1987, Tapestries of Life has been a constant presence in many Border communities–feeding, educating and rescuing children to the glory of God. Today, we are close to finishing what will be the most effective tool in setting a child’s future on a new course.

OUR BEGINNINGS

“…Go and bring forth fruit…” (John 15:16 KJV) In 1981 the Lord birthed this ministry in the hearts of Steven & Cathy Brewer when they lived in Croswell, MI. The Brewer family Incorporated in El Paso, Texas June 1988 as “Tapestries of Life Ministries.” Steve and Cathy have three wonderful adult children: Mark, Amanda, and Danny, who have been their greatest inspiration and support throughout their lives. Their children are grown up now, live in various parts of the US and have blessed them with 8 grandchildren. Tapestries Of Life was incorporated in Chihuahua, MX, December 1993 as “Tapestries de Mexico, A.C.” TLM is an international Orphanage & Adoption Agency exclusively for charitable purposes. OPPORTUNITY

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 KJV) You now have an opportunity to help us bring the children home. The Mexican government has committed to filling our facility with children once our cafeteria is complete! To make it happen, we need financial resources and work teams to help us finish construction. With your help, hundreds of children will begin the turnaround in their life’s story. Tapestries of Life provides many ways for people to have “hands-on” involvement in our missions outreach to Mexico. Individuals, churches, mission groups, youth groups… there’s an opportunity for you! You can partner with us financially. You might choose to sponsor this project by making a one-time gift or commit to monthly contributions. Your gifts are always tax deductible when made to Tapestries of Life Ministries. Your monies can be designated to any of our on-going ministries such as our “building fund”, “mercy ministry”, “missionary support”, or “general fund”. You can bring a Work Group to the construction site, and put your own hands to the work. Come and make a difference in the lives of children for years to come.

THE CHILDREN’S HOME

In the early 1990′s 27 acres of property located in Guadalupe, Mexico was donated to Tapestries of Life Ministries. This property was an answer to prayer for Pastor Steven and Cathy Brewer. The Brewer’s vision is to build an orphanage for the homeless children of Mexico. They have named this Children's Home “Casa de las Gemas” – House of Gems. Every child is a jewel in God’s eyes. When completed this complex will house over 200+ children. The main dormitory is a two story, 55,000 sq ft building constructed in the shape of a cross, a 30-foot waterfall in the center of the building and bathrooms in each room. On the grounds are a Clinic, Cafeteria, Staff Housing, Elementary School, Nursery and a Warehouse. In addition to a first-class home, each child will be impacted by the gospel in action. They will be fed, educated, restored, and protected from the perils of the streets of Ciudad Juárez. There exists no other facility like ours in the WORLD.
