I woke up last night, and to be honest a little frustrated with the fear factor of the church.  See, many groups are canceling their trips, or the groups that used to be 50 are now 5 because people are afraid to visit Mexico.  For May, we only have one group, and for June we have no groups at all.  Wow, it seems like we have more faith in our leadership decision making process coming from our evening news rather than the Word of God.  Where are the mighty men of valor?

As I sat up pondering our financial predicaments (we need at least 50 people a month to visit just to make budget) and how to proceed, the Lord sent me to these verses that I would like to now share with you.

Deuteronomy 7:6-9…STEVEN…”For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.  The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.  Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”

Wow, what an exciting word for the family of Tapestries Of Life…Instead of shrinking back into fear, gloom and doom were going to press forward in this exciting time.  If the enemy is working so hard using fear to stop us from bringing the children home and pressing forward then I believe that we should respond in an opposite direction to this fear attack.

In faith and courage we will sacrifice to keep Tapestries open and afloat and press forward to new territory’s for the King who loves us as a special treasure above all peoples on the face of the earth.

Today in our staff meeting, Lisa presented to me once again the plea of orphans in India and Africa who want to come under the umbrella of Tapestries Of Life.  In the face of our needs for Mexico, any body want to go to India to give orphans a Tapestries hand up, instead of a hand out?
